What are some popular opera pieces?

Short preferably. I love Ave Maria. I'd like stuff similar to that. I prefer a woman's voice or in other words a higher pitch.

With the exception of the version in Verdi's opera Otello, an Ave Maria piece is usually not opera.

You may enjoy the so-called "Flower Duet" from Delibes' opera Lakme.
barber of sevil is very poular thanks to luney tunes but isnt very good (well some parts are i supose) and carmen is fabulous. as for being like ave maria i dunno im not familiar with it

Something more median range is "Voi che sapete" and "Non so piu cosa son" from la nozze di figaro (tha marriage of figaro)...I agree with Carmen's arias, those are TONS of fun to sing becuase you can have so much fun with them.

I think Meine Herr Marquis (Adele's laughing song from Die Fledermaus) is lots of fun to sing too...a tad bit challenging with the runs, but fun.
