Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, now deceased, unfortunately. It's got everything you describe and a few new ones. See Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitchhi... for links, explanations, summaries et al.

The guy above beat me too it. Hitchhikers is the best space series ever. So funny. Get a copy, the paperback ultimate edition(all five books) is only seventeen dollars.
Hitchhiker's Guide is a comedy - not a romance. Plus, I found it pretty lousy (and I *love* most scifi). My off-the-cuff recommendation is the "Dragonriders of Pern" series by Anne McCaffrey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonrider... . The men are portrayed as very aggressive and violent toward women (rape is the usual form of romance in the early books). However, the stories are excellent (despite this), and later books become much less sexually violent. The 3,4, and 5 books (Dragonsong, Dragonsinger and Dragondrums) are excellent, probably my favorite female character portrayal ever. Later books are heavier on romance. I think this series will definitely fit your criteria.
2nd choice: the Elijah Baley novels by Asimov. Although there is no romance to speak of in the 1st book, the 2nd has quite a bit and the 3rd seems to be overly concerned with it - which means you will like it. The great thing about these books is that they are murder mysteries - scifi murder mysteries. Truly excellent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elijah_Bale...
I recommend that you read Asimov's "I, Robot" before reading the Elijah Baley books. Although very limited in romance, the whole "3 Laws of Robotics" is studied in detail in these excellent short stories. Even if you were not planning on reading the Elijah Baley books, this is probably the only scifi story I would consider "must read". Since Elijah Baley books are also concerned (at least tangentially) with the 3 laws, it is really useful to read this book first.
Unfortunately, I can think of no other scifi series that has any considerable (for me, too much) romance.
