Well it depends on the type of opera you like but my first introduction, and the song my son was born to, the Pearl Fisher's Duet.
It is a great duet with a tenor and a baritone...brought tears to my eyes the first time and still does.
I tend toward light and comic opera or American fold opera. Porgy and Bess fits that category, so Summertime will be up my list.
