Rebecca Budig who originated the role is coming back as Greenlee and the gal who's been playing Greenlee has been fired. It's just wrong! I hate Budig.

Rebecca Budig, the original Greenlee, is coming back. It does sound confusing on the ABC commercials when they say "the real Greenlee returns." It also pisses me off! It should be "original."
the original actress that first played greenlee is coming back to the show. She left a few years ago to try to go prime time and movies.

When they wanted to being Greenlee's story line back she didn't want the job so they hired Sabine.

Now she wants the job so they fired Sabine for her.

To my mind they shouldn't say the Real Greenlee because who ever plays the role IS Greenlee. They should have said Original Greenlee.

On the bottom corner of the screen on every soap on that channel has got it on it %26amp; I'm sick of it ! I never liked her anyhow %26amp; like this one better !
The original actress was Rebecca Budig, she left 2 years ago and they got someone to replace her ABC was not happy with her and got Rebecca back.
Rebbecca is coming back and taking over her roll . She was a newlywed in real life and wanted to spend time with her husband and also go to California and try other things , Vegas and CSI . so now she is returning and I am so happy , the new Greenlee is BORING , and needed replaced badly .. Like her acting .I can't wait Rebbecca is the only one that can play that part !!!!
The network probably could have handled it better, but to me, Rebecca is the REAL Greenlee - I've never been able to accept Sabine.
I like Rebecca Budig, but this other girl was doing a good job and yes, i guess she's out. This must have been something they are dong for the ratings. i really don't think its fair to the other girl who has been greenlee, but then nothing is fair in hollywood.
ABC is just trying to suck us in! They are advertised that on all the soaps and on The View also. Rebecca Budig originated the role, then left the role. She got married to Bob Guiney (remember he was on The Bachelor) and moved to L.A. She wanted to get work in prime time, but I guess that didn't pan out. ABC was never pleased with Sabine, Rebecca's replacement, so they hired Rebecca back and fired Sabine. I also read that they treated her like s**t!! Rebecca is going to be on The View tomorrow (Wed) so it will be interesting to see how she spins it to make ABC sound good!
ABC actually was very happy with Sabine, she did a wonderful job as Greenlee and her pairing with Aidan on the show was earning her a lot of fans. What ABC doesn't like is the ratings, but instead of hiring new (better) writers it decided to offer Rebecca Budig a sweet deal to come back since pilot season is a no-go due to the writer's strike. Right now is when pilots would have been taping. So to get viewers back ABC is bringing Rebecca back. It was not about dissatisfaction with Sabine in the role and anyone who says that is misinformed-- nowhere has it ever been suggested that this was what it was about. ABC was always willing to bring Rebecca in again if she would come back.

The reason ABC says the REAL Greenlee is apparently they think that will make fans happy but they don't realize how offensive that is to Sabine, the hard work she did, or to her fans and viewers of the show who accepted her as the recast. But now even REBECCA is correcting reporters who call her the REAL Greenlee... she says that she is the ORIGINAL Greenlee, not the REAL Greenlee. The ads are a joke and when even the person being promoted (Rebecca) doesn't go along with the tagline you know there's a problem. Will tell you this. That Sabine girl just didn't work for me. She may be better as someone else somewhere else or maybe as another character on AMC. But Budig did Greenlee so well that I just can't picture someone else as Greenlee.

Sabine may be getting the shaft. But that's just how the cookie happened to crumble. She's a big girl and will get over it. Sabine, ABC, and Budig all made their own decisions. Now it's time for them and us fans live with whatever will happen next.

Things have seemed to be going down hill at AMC. The show just doesn't seem to be all that good anymore, this coming from an honest to goodness lifelong fan of the show.

Hopefully things will get better.
I am and was a Rebecca Budig fan, and will be glad to see her again. However, the way ABC %26amp; AMC handled the whole thing is insulting and a shame. While another actress is still playing the role, and doing a good job I should say, they start with "The Real Greenlee". There is no *real* Greenlee and someone should tell AMC that. It's a fictional character. The *original actress* is returning, but she's no more the "real" Greenlee than I am.

Sarah P: Thank you for a very concise interpretation and commentary. Regardless of the reasons for AMC/ABC bringing Rebecca back, it just doesn't say a lot for their professionalism (not to mention their employer tactics) for their ad campaign to go the way it did. And Rebecca will not bring their ratings up - they need to let the writers %26amp; producers do what they do, and stop the suits from thinking they know best. What works on primetime doesn't always work on daytime, so stop pushing tornados, explosions, blizzards, etc. down our throats. Give us some relationships. I'm much more interested in what Adam is up to with this stupid party than Hannah (who?) falling over a cliff.
I was just starting to get used to the "new" Greenlee. To bad they couldn't have Sabine on as someone else instead. Some kind of relative of Greenlee's or something.
